I knew this was going to be a good one at the 100 mark, when I looked up and saw the entire team standing on the home stretch yelling at me. I didn't know they were going to do that. I may not be in my best shape, but this was probably my most enjoyable race ever. I ran 85/86 for the first several laps, but eventually I fell back to 87/88 when I ran out of people to chase. Splits were 5:41-5:51-5:50-:37. I had a fast, explosive last 120 meters or so. I was afraid that there was someone on my tail and I wanted to get rid of him.
I'm not anywhere near my best racing form right now. But I competed very well. It was difficult to see the next group ahead of me running 17:20ish and knowing that not so long ago I could do that, but that didn't affect my race.
