Slow but fun start to the season. There was a significant wind coming out of the northwest. The first half was slow - partly because of that and partly just because I have not run fast in a while and I needed to feel my way into it. I hit 1000 in 3:50 and then the mile in 6:04. I hit the turnaround in 9:24 which is probably the slowest I've ever gone out on this course. Then I turned around and hammered it in. I ran 8:47 for the second half including 3:30 for the last 1000. That was fun, and it was too bad I couldn't find a 3:20...
I am happy with this first race in the Howard County Striders uniform. They gave me a women's small and it fits surprisingly well!
