Ran in the lead pack of three (Scott Koehler, Michael Insler) through just before six miles. But I fell behind on every downhill and made it up on flat and uphill, and that got expensive. Eventually it got hard to hang on and that's when Scott made his mode. The race instantly blew out with Scott in front, then Michael, and then me. And it stayed that way. I thought I might work back into second during mile 8 but it was just not possible. A good but not perfect end to a firecracker of a season.
Jillian came to watch, which was awesome.
