37 degrees. Wind SW at 22 mph. Windy but feels completely different from this morning. Unbelievable what 9 degrees can do. Have to go to East Prairie to run an errand so decide to run the Azalea course as an easy run/scouting mission.
Start off what feels like a nice, easy pace and don't look at the garmin until I hit the 5k finish mark.
Splits of 7:42/ 7:29/ 6:51 and first loop finished in 22:14 and at 3.04 miles. I was looking at all the tangents as I ran and think I have figured out the shortest distance possible on this 5K course. Kept jogging around a second loop and went to the 1 mile mark prior to peeling off and heading to the truck. It is actually pretty nice out even though the wind is blowing in excess of 20 mph.
I know one thing: There are going to be some people smoke that course come Azalea festival time.
