Storm clouds and lightening threatening off to the west but never get to arena park until mid-morning.
See AJ and JW were planning to run some 800 repeats so decide to jump into the workout. Havent done this workout in a long time but my current TM interval work during the past month should buffer anything I do today. Perfect workout 10 days out from the Dutchman's road 5K race.
AJ originally wants to run 8-10 800s but not sure what he will do. JW says he is in for 6; I say I will do 6.
3.35 miles for warmup with 3.12 miles in 22:52 then some light drills and 2 striders.
800s ran on 1/2 mile circle at Arena Park area.
Splits: 2:48/2:52/2:46/2:49/2:49/2:44.
First one just staying behind AJ and had no idea we were running at sub 2:50 pace. Slowed slightly on second split but the pace was set so just cruised them each in. Joe and I both did 2:00 recovery walks essentially back to the starting line. The sixth one was moderately tough; the rest of them felt very smooth and easy. AJ says he is done at 6. We all agree that is enough for one morning.
