Beginning of a 5 week cycle which I hope will culminate in a fast time 13 June at Sikeston. Interval session at the track.
1.45 miles warmup then 4 striders for total of 1.75 miles. Easy drills and stretching before starting intervals. Was planning on doing at least 4 per set and hoping to, at best, get all 8 done without taking a one minute break. Plan is to run the 400's then walk 50 meters and jog 150 meters; repeat cycle. Wanting to keep all between 80-83 seconds.
First: 80 s
Sec: 82s
Third: 81s
Fourth:78s
Fifth: 77s
Sixth: 81s
Seven: 81s
Eight: 80s; After eighth interval decided to call the session good and walked 200m then jogged 600m. Session total = 4.85 miles. Went to grab some gatorade/water mix and dry cereal prior to the 400m race.
