Notes

Warm up time with Brandon on the side streets of the starting line. Humidity extremely high then it begins to rain lightly 5 min prior to race time and streets are wet.... more on that later. I feel pretty good this morning.

Brandon and I ran the first 1.2 miles of the course then ran back to the starting line. Changed into our racing flats then, after hydrating up some, went back out for some drills and striders prior to expected 7:30 start. They kept us at the starting line until 7:35 due to some type of technical issue.... After the fact, I think they were trying to find someone who can actually start an official clock correctly.

Final numbers are: 934 entries which are down from 3 years ago. 465 women and 469 men.

Some noted times: A 75 y/o woman ran 35:22 and a 71 y/o woman ran 26:05.... Salty.

Impressions. The wet roads slowed the front runners down a bit. Brandon and I thought probably 10-12 seconds as making the turns during the first mile needed to be taken with care as there were more than one fall on the course. The front 20 runners were fast as a group as the Big River Running team brought 14-15 of their racers out in uniform. You can't miss the Blue racing uniforms with about ten guys and 5 women.
