Cool down and reflection. Classic case of Father Time showing why he is the undisputed, unbeaten, untied title holder. He totally beat my aS$ down today. Felt like I was in 4th gear for about 1 mile then pretty much never got out of high 3rd gear the rest of the race. Evidently 4th gear is the "new" 5th and 3rd gear is the "new" 4th gear.
Oh well, No one above 50 finished ahead of me and I finished with 9 miles total. Doc Rob is 46 y/o and is oldest today to one-up-me. Not sure any of the front runners are even 30 yet. One or two may be 30..... Just by getting up and hitting the trails I already trumped 95+% of the rest of the USA.
Every young guy has their days in the Spotlight; I hope they enjoy it as it is definitely fleeting. I was watching and reflecting on the degradation of my speed in the past decade. Physiology is physiology.
