Notes

Incredible day. Averaging about 5:40 through 16. Then faded into the high 5:50s until mile 20. Then mile 21-26 averaged about 7:45. Got an ab cramp after mile 20 and had to walk to recover. By the time I started running again, my legs were done for.

Spoke with some friends and they said they believe it was fueling issue. Took half an apple sauce at two different points between miles 10-18. Had half a good about the 10k. Had some sips of water and gatorade every 2-3 miles, but overall did not fuel enough. Definitely a learning experience. Humbling to say the least.

The second most fun run I have ever done behind outdoor 10k conference 2021. Felt like I was flying for the first half (came through in 73), and still felt pretty good up until that ab cramp after mile 20. I know I can do a lot better in my next go around.

Training fixes include more 2+ hour long runs, more hills, and more mileage in general.

Racing strategy fixes include fueling with a goo or apple sauce every 3-4 miles, and taking a walking break to get a nice gulp of gatorade down at miles 10 and 20, and taking in water but without a walking break every 2 miles.
