Notes

Stayed in Providence overnight. Isabella stayed in the room too. We got up at 5:30am for a 7:30 start.

Headed down to the start at around 7 for a 10 minute walk to the start. Margo came to the start too. Start got delayed by about 10. Ran with Helen, Mark Reeder and James Sullivan form GLRR for first few miles. Wanted to maintain about 6:35-6:40 pace. Reeder took off and I decided not to go with him. My pace started slowing as my legs felt heavier, at which point I realized I wasn't going to beat my Boston time.

I was running alone for much of the race. The weather was perfect, no wind. The course was very scenic albeit a bit lonely.

Took at powergel around mile 9. Was hoping to see Margo and Mara but never did. They had my other powergels!

Got the the half in about 1:28. Legs started feeling heavy. At about mile 20, I could start feeling pain in my quads, though I tried not to slow down, I also didn't push it any harder. One killer short hill at about 21 mile mark? Merged in with half marathon runners with about 3 miles to go, which was a bit annoying.

Happy to finish. Not what I had hoped for but still satisfied. Got second in age group after Reeder. Would have been top master!
