Notes
This 5k was much harder than I thought it should feel. I wore flats after talking to Diemer and having him tell me to do a very hard tempo instead of going quite all out. Was comfortable through the first two miles, but when a competitor from Southwestern University in Texas made a move with 3 to go I tried to go with him. I think that the 10k last week and the hard training of this week zonked the energy out of my legs because I couldn't stick with him. It was pretty embarrassing because 16:15 should be a time that I feel like I should run in my sleep at this point, and I did actually close my 10k in a faster second half than this the week prior. I need to resolve to be tougher, and hone my competitive edge so that when this happens in a future outing I can be the athlete that this team needs me to be.
