Fun race as usual - we got to the course kinda late, had just enough time to change and get to the starting line. Weird weather day for sure - super windy and it made a tough course even harder. Also fought being hot and cold. Not sure what to expect today, but gave it ALL I had for sure. 100% effort here and felt OK for the first 5, but it took it's toll. My head cold kicked my butt in this one. Had nothing after mile 6 and just could not breathe - the hill just past the marsh sapped all I had left.
I was hanging with Mike until this point - he utterly kicked my ass after. Just could not reel him in. No repeat from last year. Honestly, the fear of Greg and/or Doug slapping my ass kept me grinding after 7...
But, all in all, happy with this effort considering how I'm feeling. Somehow I also won my race category - clydesdale 1 (190-210lbs) - the big boys. All in all, a fun day.
