No watch gazing long run:
Got up in a daze this morning knowing I was going to pay for the extra day in VA - sure enough what a crappy day to run my long. Welcome back to Maine: 50s and rain - oh bring back the 90s heat any day!!
Got up and did everything I could to avoid this. Finally got to the Y and decided to make this a no watch gazing run. Best decision I made as this run turned out to be really nice - forgot about the rain, my pace and ran as I felt. What a surprise, as I really didn't labor at all here. Legs really responded to the day off and I actually enjoyed the rain (not the wind at mile 13-14 though). All in all, real happy with this run and the week, it was good training to tough this out and get in my miles. I have to say, I have a new found respect for those of you who ran Boston in this stuff - after 14 my shoes were bricks, couldn't imagine running another 12 with that extra weight.
Hard to believe, my training is now 1/6 complete for Chicago - yikes. Need to get some longer intervals in.
Oh egad: You'll be happy to know, I gained 2 pounds during vacation.
