Notes
first race of the season. went out conservative and found myself near the back. the race split into a fast pack greeding on zach and a slower pack. i found myself near the back of this slower pack. 2nd lap i made a sweeping pass to lead the slow pack but the other pack had separated themselves a fair bit. I kept my pace up slowly and dropped the slower pack. The faster pack was chilling around the same pace as me. it stayed this till around lap 6 where a Bettendorf kid lost the pace in that pack and i passed him. then zach gray started to drop off and i went after him but didn't get him. decently close finish with dopler sneaking up on me again but i kept him away. splits were first 200 at 34, 400 at 68.1, 70.4 (2:18.5), 72.7 (3:31.2), 69.5 (4:40.8) closing 800 of 2:22.3. looking back i need too run stronger in the 3rd 400. but it will help in future races if i'm not running solo through this part.
