Notes
midnight madness 10k. didn't feel the greatest but happy with how it went. weather was warm but much cooler than the 5k race. this was definitely a weird race to prepare for since we had all day and it was right around dinner time.
got out smart and stayed conservative, racing in a pack with pat, maccoy, and a few other goobers. one of them pulled away in mile 3 which is partially why that was the fastest split. after that we continued to run as a pack with a few of the goobers dropping off in miles 4 and 5. at the end of mile 5 i made my move and separated myself from Maccoy and Pat. I then spent the last mile and a quarter trying to keep them at bay which was nerve racking but successful.
Form could have been better. I think i was leaning forward too much for one as well as my cadence being pretty low. I could feel the cadence was inefficient but i didn't want to mess with it and ruin rhythm midrace. hopefully my next few weeks of training can get that sorted out.
