Really good weight workout. Intentionally didn't do any super sets and also tried hard to take sufficient recovery time between sets. Made a big difference in weight that I was able to lift.

Not being sarcastic, but ponder this....if you can increase in weight each set and maintain the reps, do you think those first sets are doing you any good? Asssume the warm-up has been completed of course.

Think about finding a weight you can do for all 3 or 4 sets. You might lose a few reps from start to finish, but you might find a better workout. Say on flat bench...do 135 for all sets and see what happens to reps.

My bench: 185x9 x8 x6 x6 (spot assist). I was drained after every set!

I know what you mean. Problem is I've been doing super sets up til now and I don't have a spotter. So I'm still honing in on what weight I should be doing when not part of a SS. So I started at 115 and increased from there. Next week I'll be starting at 135 though like you suggested.

Yep that is harder. Don't hesitate to quit after 2-3 reps once you realize you are gonna do too many reps and go pick up something heavier. Then start the set over again. I did that a few times yesterday too.

Also push hard on that 4th set. Give it a minute and find somebody to spot you. I can almost always grab anyone for one set, but if you did on all of them it would get old. Just ask, what are they gonna say...no?
