Notes

I can officially say that this run was probably my worst run ever... I started off my run as happy and excited as someone could be to start my long run, I even thought to myself that I would reach the cap of 80 that Boehmke set during this run because, why not and I felt pretty good and fresh at the time. My paces were looking pretty good for a long run pace and they ranged from 7'21" pace to 7'46" which I thought was pretty good for not feeling much fatigue at all. The run continued to progress and I made my way through the Arboretum, and I ran down the passage that took you to Meadowbrook. At this very point, my transition from the Arb to Meadowbrook was the point where all of my fun ended, and pure pain came to replace it. Out of nowhere, a side stitch appeared around my left external oblique. Where I began to feel for my side to see how it felt, I could feel the stitch as if it were stabbed into my side... broad as daylight, it felt as if my muscle was being pulled while I was running, and hurt no matter what pace I was at. At the time I was really annoyed with my body and had no idea why these types of things kept on happening to me even when I marathon on bananas. I had to stop my watch and start walking a bit in order to control my pain and hope that it goes away soon so that I can continue along with my happy long run... The stitch never left. I knew I had to start running again because otherwise, I wouldn't be able to do a proper long run on time and everything I did would have been for nothing. I ran a really painful 9'45" pace run for maybe 10 minutes until I could get the hang of things and try pushing for a faster pace while my left side hurt more then it should've. To make a long story short, I ended up hobbling home while I grasped the left side of my stomach hoping that it would disappear before I gave in to the pain that I was destined to feel forever. I probably looked really weird to people who saw me running on the streets, but I guess that's just the life of a runner.
