Notes
Tribute run to the participants in the Cherry Blossom 15k this morning. I thought about running that race since I was in town, but felt crappy this morning. They were led the wrong way and ended up running 10.25 miles. The extra mile was a killer.
Originally planned to do a short run, but exploration took me farther than expected. New shoes felt great. I was able to stay under a 10:00 min pace and kept heart rate under 170. Thought about going further, but probably wouldn't have been a good idea since quads/IT were getting tender and my knees still don't like the distance. Improvement in that I didn't start feeling any joint fatigue until 8+ miles, at about 1:20:00. Time-to-joint-fatigue has consistently been increasing.
I'll probably stick to 8 mile runs next week and target the 5k. If I stay healthy, I should be able to go for a PR.
