Notes

First ever double digit run! 10 miles! I have to say this was a very emotional run with lots of lows. At the half way point, I was already starting to struggle, my pace was getting slower and my legs were fatiguing faster than I expected (I was doing run 3 mins / walk 1 min intervals up to that point). I really started to self doubt myself and just didn't think I had it in me to complete the second 5 miles. Then the right song came on at the right time on my ipod and it was just enough to help me get over that negative self talk and just keep pushing through. (I really hope we can listen to music during the half marathon because anything over a 10K, I must have music!)

Then around 7 miles, it started to feel like I was running on hot coals and just couldn't run very long so I had to stop and walk more often...down to a run 2 min / walk 2 mins at that point. With about a mile to go, I started getting cramps in my calfs but nothing bad enough to make me stop, especially knowing I only had a mile but that was by far the longest mile ever!

I have the Reedy River 10K next week then one more long run (10-12 miles) before the Greer Half Marathon on April 9. So yea, for finally getting to 10 miles without getting injured (knocking on wood).

Mile splits: 11:02, 11;37, 11:41, 13:05, 11:04, 13:58, 13:20, 12:04, 13:26, 12:32.
