Reedy River Run 10K - Woo hoo! Not only did I beat my goal time of a sub 1:08:00 finish and my old PR of 1:11:48, I smashed it with a time of 1:04:25! A new PR by 7 mins! And in the rain!

I felt awesome the first 4 miles and to my surprise I was averaging right around a 10 min pace for those 4 miles! WTF, that has never happened, not even in training! So not only did I get 10K PR, I got a 5K (31:03) and 4 mile (40:04) PR as well! Sweet!

But then, around 4.5 miles, I noticed my feet were soaked and my little toes started to really hurt so I knew blisters were forming. This is a new spot for blisters as I normally get them on the balls of my feet (took care of that problem today, just didn't know I had another trouble spot...guess wet feet changes everything). But knowing the pain was temporary and it would be all over soon, I just kept pushing through even though it really slowed down my pace those last 2 miles.

Once I got to the top of final hill and turned the corner to the last .2 miles downhill, I knew I was going to give it all I had left and ended getting down to a 6:51 pace as I crossed the finish line. Not my fastest kick but my legs were like jello at that point so I'll take it.

Gun time was around 1:05:15. Garmin time 1:04:25 which should be close to what my actual chip time is. Mile Splits: 10:00, 9:52, 10:02, 10:04, 10:53, 11:22, (8:57).

Pre-race dinner: Capri's Salad & Spaghetti

Breakfast: Erin Bakers Peanut Butter Breakfast Cookie + Water

Clothing: capri tights, long sleeve base layer + rain jacket and hat. Was comfortable despite the rainy conditions.
