Nothing like doing a turkey trot race right in your own neighborhood. The chilly conditions and hilly course made for a challenging and fun morning. At least I can say I was prepared for the latter. A lot of other runners who took off quickly at the start soon found out what Mantua's hills are like. After a quick downhill first mile I settled in well over the rolling hills the rest of the way. I'm not sure of my finish time or place but I think I was about 26:35 for 4 miles and about 15th place overall. Good chance I was the first Mantua finisher as well. Considering I have only been doing mostly maintenance running and cross-training the past two weeks, this is a good result. Definitely pleased with how it turned out.
