Alex and I went out maybe a little hard, but I'm not sure because I didn't have a watch and there weren't any mile markers. A Newton North kid was with us for about 1000 meters, but that was it. Alex was feeling a lot better than I was at about halfway and then put in a surge in the last kilometer and ended up beating me by about 12 seconds. It was a little hard in the middle, but felt like the 20 minute tempo should.
