Just about a perfect race. Ran smart -- steady pace for first 8 miles, then fast pace for last 2 miles (7:47 and 7:25). Passed about 10 people during the race after being passed by several in mile 1. Finished 2nd in AG, and passed #3 in AG in mile 10 near football stadium, then passed 20th place guy (about 22 years old) with 0.5 miles to go. 18th placer saw me trying to pass her, and then she out-sprinted me to finish line.
Course measured short at 9.93 (or I just ran the road tangents really good -- and maybe the course was actually measured for the trails and sidewalks, rather than roads). Weather was perfect -- 58 w/ breeze, but sometimes the wind was a bit too strong (in miles 5 and 8 as I faced north, and had to fight the wind -- which explains why mile 8 was a very slow 8:04 on my Garmin; my only 8+ mile).
