hello...i fucked up. i went and tried to run the powerlines today and i did something to my knee. feels like the same as last april or whatever so i'll have some running downtime. i think i can walk okish though. it happened because i am an asshole and have been preaching to you all and well...i'll be the first to admit it. i shouldn't have run up there feeling the way i do...all cocky and immortal and now karma has fucked me. what's fucked is i saw it coming and i STILL did it! so i would appreciate some "you are a fucking hypocrites" or the like. i'll tell you right now, i fucking deserve far worse than that.

Loved your entry yesterday - finally talking my language. I know this is a running blog, but you opened the door to history. Like you, I can spend hours starring and thinking about old gravestones and those who lived before us. It is so hard to carve out the time to think and dig beyond our own memories - what have we done to the past with all our politically correct crap and baggage? What kind of life did these men and women live? Did they make a difference? Why should we care? Is there one "true" historical truth or is it all influenced by memory and personal interpretation? Welcome to the field of history and historiography.
Not to bore the shit out of CN - but I would highly encourage you and others to care enough to find their story - let them tell you who they were and what they did - you might even discover a little about yourself in the meantime. I did this a few years ago with a randomly selected man from Biddeford/Saco and was amazed at what I found and how this man lived - he really had a crazy cool story to tell if only someone cared to uncover it! SO MUCH better than reality TV or anything hollywood could shape or make up.

It's upsetting to me to that you don't recognize Belmont Sanders and Steve Allaire, 2 frequent routes in my log, as a shout out to dead guys.
