Awesome job Eric on your first marathon! Way to go Michelle!
Life's journey is not to arrive safely to the grave in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!
BIG PR for Michael and Tom!

Way to go, guys!
Egad! That's one hell of a debut marathon.
A list of my PRs in a misguided attempt to impress people that do not care.

yeah, LR did that in NY on a course with some long hills!
Actually, 3:08 was my first Boston (2010). NYC was 3:01 (2011). I'd be happy with either time now.
How old is Michelle? Looks like she may be qualified for NYC next year:
Qualifying with a fast marathon or half-marathon time. Runners who meet the following qualifying time standards in a half-marathon or marathon (results must be verifiable online) between January 1, 2012, and January 31, 2013:

After feedback from our runners and careful review of tens of thousands of race performances from the last decade, we have revised the time-qualifying standards for guaranteed entry into the ING New York City Marathon 2013. We thank all our runners for their helpful input.
Here's my answer:
Grahamtastic 5K Sanford, Maine - October 21, 2012 Place Name Age S City St Time Pace ===== =================== === = ==================== == ======= ===== 19 Michelle Sherman 47 F Springvale ME 24:39 7:56 Congratulations, Michelle! I hope you'll consider running the City next November!
This is what the McMillan Running calculator says for Michelle's predicted 5K time based on her marathon time: 21:35.
So she was obviously not running the Grahamtastic 5K for speed.
she doesn't run any race for speed. just think if she did...she'd be like elite and stuff.
