Notes

Don't hammer off the bike. Ease into it until you feel like you're running, then get up tp IM pace 7:30.

Bundle up if it's cool.

Keep working on your nutrition/hydration plan. Use what you plan to use on race day.

I tried to keep this run as flat as possible considering that I was leaving from the house and not on the rail trail, so I went in every direction from the nearest intersection until the road started to have a steeper incline.

I mostly resisted looking at the watch / pace for the first mile, just allowing myself to run easy by feeling and so that I wasn't concerned with getting down to IM pace. I was pretty much right on target at the end of the first mile (give or take a little due to short rolling hills). Maintaining 7:30 pace was certainly doable, but did require a little more attention than the 7:40 pace. There were two slightly slower miles - I didn't pause the watch when I stopped for pee breaks, as I wanted to see how much they affected the pace for that mile (not much). There was one other 2 minute break in this run that was not included in the time.

On flat ground, I think a consistent 7:30 would have been much easier to do.
