Today was a nice day. I decided on the Prickly Loop, but to make it a little longer I added on the Loop Road. The Prickly Loop always fascinates me for one reason: that big pile of trash. I don't know who it belongs to or why they think it's ok to throw all manner of junk out into the woods, but it always catches my eye. I got a rough count of 22 old tires just sitting there.
I have to remember not to run the Prickly Loop in the afternoons. It's a wicked hilly route, and trying to run it at a low heart rate during a time of the day when I have a hard time with my heart rate anyway just makes it a slow run. This is my slowest pace run in a long while, I think, and it's due totally to the hills. My last two miles were in the 10:00 range, but the hills really take a toll on my pace.
