Mill Creek club run in the cold fog. Got to run with the big boys this morning (Dan, Gus, Mike T.) Started slow and ended up with a progression, more or less: 8:53, 8:24, 8:14, 7:53, 7:43, 7:45, 7:24, 6:28 pace for last .9 miles. Gus likes to end his runs with a fast kick. I knew it was coming and I decided to go with him. That turned it into a free-for-all full-out sprint. I knew better, but the competitive juices took over and I sprinted literally as fast as I could possibly go for 150m or so. According to the Garmin, we hit 4:00/mile pace. It was fun to blow it out like that, but stupid on my part. Hopefully I'll come out of it unscathed. Might be a little sore later, but no immediate pain from it. It definitely reinforced the fact that I am not a sprinter. This wraps up the highest mileage week I've recorded since about...just checked my records...holy cow! Since June of 2010! Man, it feels good.
