I found this kinda cool, especially of your looking to move..but even if you are not it's worth looking up the area you live in. http://www.zipskinny.com/

        Run 1000 miles

        bike 500 miles

        finish a half Ironman triathlon

        Warrior dash 2012

        Chickamauga battlefield half 2012

and a few small races in between

Wow! Zipskinny is so cool! The racial demographics of my zip code are really interesting: NO Native Americans. None. And over 5% of folks have less than a 9th grade education, but I live only about 1.5 miles from one of the biggest, most prestigious universities in the country. I'd love to know how we add up politically, these days. A shout out to zoom with this one: http://www.stuffonmycat.com/

I love that site. I think one night I spent a good hour going through page after page of that... Smile

Very cool site. A little sad to see that over 18% of the population where I live has household incomes >200,000/yr. And only 7% is in the 20-29 age group. But I was shocked to compare it to my hometown in CT and see that the median income difference is less than $10K. Amazing the different ways people choose to spend that money here.
C'mon! Keep em coming! I need stuff to do at my boring job at night........

                Has been

Not particularly useful, but the chart on this page is still pretty interesting. The federal government is still paying out veterans benefits for the dependents of 3 Civil War veterans!

"Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' - she always called me Elwood - 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.'  Well, for years I was smart.  I recommend pleasant."

Yeah, I think the last Civil War widow passed away just a few years ago (she obviously married him long after the war). Sadly, the WWI number is already out of date -- there's one living American WWI vet remaining (along with one Canadian, once Frenchman, and three Britons), according to this article.

I don't know if this counts, but lately I've been enjoying the views from the webcam that Scout's mom set up in her bedroom.
