The floor is yours Cal just keep going.. I have never seen someone so fascinated with my every word.
In the old RWOL forum I often had you blocked. so i didnt see you or hear your post. I have no interest in you geez now I understand safe spaces.
Your fascination with me is way too creepy.
Thinking should be done first, before training begins.

I was never in doubt that your little ego is HUGE - continue believing that other people are fascinated by you if it makes you sleep better at night... What a joke

Not sure what you mean but running sub 3 in 50-54 age bracket is not a big deal - at relatively small CIM marathon I ran 2:59:38 and was 25th. Sub 3 at 55-59 AG would place me 14th and in 60-64 AG sub 3 would bring you just 2nd AG I am pretty sure mikeymike knows about it better than me. I started running late, so, I ran sub 3 in 40s, in 50s (will definitely run sub 3 in 55-59 AG as I am 55 for the next CIM and 2021 Boston), not sure about 60s, of course - too far and too unpredictable at this point of life.
What I MEAN was you've run sub 3 in your 50s so you might know what it takes. Top 14....I could see you actually being top 10 in your 60s and you'd probably still be on my heels the whole time making my accomplishments seem so much easier because I'm so young.
Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

First sub-3 was the hardest for me - having confidence of being a sub-3 helped running other marathons tremendously. No, I was 25th this year at CIM - which was pretty discouraging - I didn't expect so many old farts at a relatively small race. In 2015 CIM though, when I had my PR race, I was 3rd AG, but I believe since then the field vastly improved - if I had ran my PR time this year, I would only be 9th. It will be interesting to see what kind of motivation you have for improving for the next few years
Next AG is coming for me this year, but, even if I am optimistic and let's say I run 2:55 at CIM 2020, this year results show that it would only bring me 9th place - so many old fast dudes...
Mmmm Bop
Is that OSR race sanctioned, or just a bunch of runners blocking the street? Caution do not try this at home. Amateur hobby joggers on an open road.
That race is outrageous and what exactly was the health and safety officer thinking? I wouldn’t have allowed it, unless they were all wearing motorcycle helmets, full body armour and steel toe cap boots.
Sub 3 over 50? Maybe it helps if you started running late and have less miles on the clock. 🤔

Hey all. Been a busy two weeks. Lots of work, caring for the kid and pregnant wife. Mostly 4:50 am runs or 8:00 pm runs. The workouts the last two weeks have been really easy, which makes me feel like my training is going well. On the whole easy pace thing. Granted it matters what your resting (44) and max HR (190ish) are...but my 7 min mile treadmills my HR average is in the 130-136 most days on 4 to 11 miles. Seems reasonable effort wise, but welcome to feed back. If you are looking at workouts on my log note that the paces via garmin (7 min pace often shoes up at 6:50 and 5:50 pace shoes up as 6:31....IDK) are usually off, but my notes are correct. I'll finally read the last two weeks of conversation since I finally have a free night. Prepare for a comment storm....
Last week 84.5 miles....this week 80-81 miles after my 11 miler tomorrow.

How long did it take to create that table?
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
Just copy and paste from my training plan which is a google doc.
Andreas-Sub 3 is sub 3. Nice job.
Absolutely, don’t let a race define you. Nice job, Andreas. 👍
Absolutely, Andreas, even if you had ran sub 2, it would be a mistake to let that race define you!
RIP Milkman
This thread is brutal lately. Should I ask about the dead zone while watching TV just to really stir things up?
DPS - I asked about screw shoes (and got some good advice!). Given you live in prime screw shoe territory, have you ever tried them?
Also arm warmers are so key for me for winter running, as my core gets nice and warm but my forearms are frozen, so I like wearing a lighter long sleeve and arm warmers underneath. I’m not a prime candidate for a vest: never understood how anybody uses them. Do people really find their cores getting cold, but their arms are very hot?
5K: 16:37 (11/20) | 10K: 34:49 (10/19) | HM: 1:14:57 (5/22) | FM: 2:36:31 (12/19)
Everyone here uses a thing called yaktrax on their shoes if they need extra grip.
Some slower runners I see in vests usually when it is wind any they have built up a good sweat and then turn into the wind and know they will get chilled. I always play my route to start into the wind, but with racing you can't always. I never see people running sub 20 min 5k in them but lots of 30 min + 5k people wearing them.
