Good Bad & The Monkey
You don't know the actual denominator.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
But it does make you 0.3 away from being Hot Blooded.Check it and see.
Except for dirty white boys. They can get cold as ice, and have double vision. It can be urgent, especially a long, long way from home.

statistically unreliable
Also, as I have said, if the numbers were statistically reliable, the DSMB would have to stop the study as the study would no longer be ethical to continue.
But that is about epidemiology and study design, not statistics.

Yes. Fever to 102.7 is not considered a dangerous side effect.
Yes.
Fever to 102.7 is not considered a dangerous side effect.
But there may be other side effects that only show up 3 months or more after the vaccine is administered, correct?
Runners run
Correct, but that is less likely.
There are immediate stage concerns that seem not to be happening, like really high fever (e.g., 105, seizures, etc). So far so good.
There are subacute stage concerns that seem not to be happening although there was some early concern (e.g., spinal cord inflammation)
There are long term concerns that tend to be rare and we will need to wait months or years to know about these. An example might be that having the vaccine + getting COVID could cause a paradoxical inflammatory process. We saw similar with the rotavirus vaccine in babies.

"A" good CI is correct, but not the only important one, or the only important finding.
They gave you all the data you need to come up with a good CI estimate.
Problem Child
Wow.....this vaccine business is sounding like even when it's FDA approved we're going to need to stay home and stay safe with masks for another 6 months.
Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

^^ Correct RP. Vaccines only work when people actually get them. And that is going to take time.
Based on the official record of the flu vaccine in my state there is a very low percentage of the population required to have antibodies injected into them for us to not be locked down.
EDIT:
Maybe after a vaccine is given I can party like I'm a California Governor.

Oh come on, you know important people like Governors and Presidents don't have to follow the law! They ARE the law!
I figured they're just immune and it has nothing to do with how not deadly COVID 19 has shown to be.
Mmmm Bop
People think being cynical of all politicians makes them clever or savvy when really it just makes them an easy mark.
This post made me laugh. 😂
All politicians are only interested in themselves and point scoring!

Maybe kind of like AIDS, the cure is simple: excess amounts of personal wealth.

Not quite the same thing, but aseptic meningitis is a rare reaction to Ibuprofen.

Gavin Newsome has a TON of wealth and it's flat out SCARY watching the man who will be following Kamala Harris lead into the White House waltz around like nothing will affect him and let out an "im sorry, but please cancel all gatherings with anyone you know" approach to COVID 19. I honestly think he would have been WORSE than President Donald Trump with handling COVID 19 just based on how he handles California.
