Garmin in wash machine (Read 386 times)

SMART Approach

I accidently washed my Garmin 305 last night in my running pant pocket. Put in dryer and heard this thud. I opened up dryer to see what the heck was up. I sweared! I reluctently then attempted to turn it on and golly it worked. Surprised the heck out of me! I guess they ARE water proof/resistant.

I almost had another heart attack when I read that you turned it on without being sure it had dried out. I've taken my 301 into the shower with me in order to clean it up and remove the sweat smell. I've been getting a "locker" smell in my office closet where my running "stuff" is stored! I did it one time before loading a run into Garmin Training Center and RA and had a connectivity problem which passed once I let the connector really dry out. No problems with the unit other than wet connection. Have repeated cleaning process and letting it dry overnight without problems since then.

Glad it worked out for you.
