Here was a new one for me. Bell's Hopslam. Apparently, its a seasonal, and this was the first that I had seen of it. It was definitely one of the better Double IPA's that I've had.

They'll tell you that failure is not an option.  That's ridiculous.  Failure is always an option.  It is the easiest and most readily available option.  It's your choice though.

beer with sushi. when in Rome, drink Japanese beer. Soory about the poor photo quality but, beer WAS involved. Beer, $3 bucks, Plate of sashimi, $70 bucks

        Barking Mad To Run

Post-race on Sunday, Feb 3, enjoying a Golden Ale, courtesy of local Alamo Brewery, sure tasted good!

anyone try Bud Black Crown amber lager? Looks ok in the SB ads.

I haven't tried it and have no intention of adding to InBev's bottom line.  However, reviews from folks who know what a beer ought to taste like indicate to me that it's at least tolerable.  If you are stuck in some dive where you only have macro options, this would be the least worst choice.

Long term goal: To say I've been a runner half my life.  (I started running at age 45).

Sipping on a Sixpoint 3 Beans baltic porter.  The "three beans" are cacao, coffee, and romano.  Dark and incredibly smooth with lots of baker's chocolate and coffee flavor, this is simply excellent.  10% ABV and a complete departure from the overdone "stuff a brash imperial stout with lots of grounds and then age it in barrels".  Ridiculously drinkable and moreish for such a big beer.

                      2/3rds training

enjoying a case of this I bought a few days ago:

                        beer

As a PA guy, I'm kind of sick of Yuengling lager, but I was pleasantly surprised with this one.  Not as fancy as real microbrew stuff but at 25 bucks for a case I can't complain.

Ooh-I haven't seen this one.  Yuengling makes a decent beer.  DH would probably like the Bock.  Have you tried Duquesne? It's another decent PA beer for a reasonable price.

Currently working my way through a Sam Adams winter variety pack.  Just had White Christmas.  It was grapefruity.

Nope, haven't even heard of it.  I'll check it out once I work through this case...or I'll just grab another microbrew variety pack since there always seems to be a brewery I haven't sampled yet.

I'm a big fan of Chimay, but I'll warn you now.  It is inconsistent.  If it's good it's really good.  It's a trappist beer, brewed by monks.  It's probably the only one you can buy in the states.
