Well at least we can all agree that bluerun is pretty much screwed.
Excellent. I love a valid excuse for having run a crappy race
chasing the impossible
because i never shut up ... i blog
I ran 8.
Barking Mad To Run
3.69 miles of hills around the campus of the university where I work.
Felt pretty good, but my new ASICS Nimbus 22s felt kind of 'squishy.' They feel a lot softer than the Nimbus 21s do. Anyone run in the Nimbus and notice this too? Did ASICS lighten up the 22 from what the 21 was?
I think I like the 21s better than the 22s, they just feel better on my feet. Now that they are going away, time to buy some extra pairs at the discount price.

In which case everyone should prepare to be disappointed.
Just run the way you feel. If you feel great, then...great! If not, just adjust accordingly and have fun with it. Good luck! Hope you do feel good when you get out there.

My weather forecast for next weekend: Saturday night, snow showers mixing with rain showers, low 31. Sunday 40% chance of rain, high 40. But race starts at 7:00 so probably not going to get over mid-30s. OK with those temps, but with rain it would suck. And IDK what the footing will be like depending on what kind of mess comes down Saturday night. Anyway it sounds like long sleeves & gloves, at least. Maybe even a hat, at least for the early miles.
Good luck with the weather and your event. Maybe Mother Nature will be kind and turn some of the weather away at the last minute. That happens in South Texas all the time. We can go from super hot to cold or vice versa in about 15 minutes. Crazy damn weather.
With 4 tempo. It went well.
Dave
very nice! You feeling the taper?
I feel like it's getting worse and worse
each time you check it, it gets worse. so stop checking!
I’ve actually been feeling great all week.
If I only had the power to control the weather like that! At least it's not a headwind on the way back... so far. (It's not an out-and-back per se, this would be a headwind for the first two miles and then a 1.5-mile reprieve before another mile and a half into the wind, and then a tailwind the rest of the way. Which isn't the worst thing ever, I guess. But UGH!!

I ran 5. Felt pretty good. Good luck on your race bluerun! I hate 10Ks
As do I
your splits for the 4 miles were the same or slightly faster than your 10k last weekend.
