Today is my Hebrew birthday. There's a parade in my honor! (Okay, it's the West Indian Caribbean Day parade. Same difference.) 10.54 -- a little warm up, 5K race, 10K race. No PRs were had, though I ran both faster than this race last year, despite that stupid headwind courtesy of Hermine. Two first place AG awards to show for it (fifth and fourth OA female, respectively.)

Wonderful.
Congrats on the races.
Do you celebrate your Gregorian-based birthday too, and make it into two parties per year?

I have this bump/bruise on top of my right foot. Hurt like hell Tuesday and Wednesday, probably because I had tightly laced shoes on Tuesday's workout, that were putting pressure on the bruise (or inflammation), and it hurt like hell. I thought I was going to DNS at some time. Right now I wear my right shoe so loose it's ridiculous, but there's 0 pressure on the bump/bruise, and slowly the pain is subsiding. I can still feel it, especially when I'm turning left, but I'm thinking if I don't hurt it more and it keeps improving, I should be ok to race this thing. This morning, I forgot about the foot in about 80% of the run, so yeah, it's good enough not to affect my pace too much.

Hope it continues to get better as you taper.

Great job, Bluerun!

Well... I don't find birthdays celebratory! But my family all considers today my "real" birthday, so in that sense, it was always that way growing up. Now I just use both days as an excuse not to go to work, so it turned out nicely that it fell on Labor Day this year and I don't have work anyway!

So is your triathlon training perpetual, despite there being no IM on the schedule?
Pretty much. That's fine because I want to increase the swim and bike fitness anyway. I'll be focusing more on the run for he next 5-6 months though.
<3
Looks like it was a decent run, as those things go.
Yeah I have been feeling better on my easy runs lately.

That is usually a good sign
No more marathons
And I have to believe that that sub 20 is right there.
Boston 2014 - a 33 year journey
Lordy, I hope there are tapes.
He's a leaker!
I am not going to be running another 5k this year. 2 half marathons and 1 marathon.
on my way to badass
Is your team in the running for the crown? I think the two years I played, I brought bad luck to my teams. lol
Nope. We are down to 10th. We had been at 5th. Were killing it while everyone was training for Spring races.
Still waiting for the perfect race picture. 5K PR-33:52 , 10K PR 1:11:16, First HM 2:42:28
Are you doing Monumental? When are your HMs?
Dave
Marathon training can be great for 5Ks. I ran my PhatOldMan PR 4 weeks after Boston in 2014.
Just sayin

I have read that, but it hasn't proven the case. For me anyway.
Did it happen more than once for you?
