Singer who runs a smidge

I am so with you, Scotty!!  I very much wish I could hibernate through the winter, I really hate being cold.  I told DH this morning that we will have to retire to Aruba.  Quartet gig tonight, so that'll be fun.  But I'm really looking forward to the weekend!

Scotty -- have fun in the park!!

Docket -- if it weren't for the fact that it's Miami, I would want to move there.  83 and humid sounds lovely!!

Bin -- wow, that's a late working evening!!

Dan -- hope the knee gets back to 100%!!

traci -- laughing at your new word!!

Jack -- enjoy your continued rest!!

When it's all said and done, no one remembers how far we have run.  The only thing that matters is how we have loved.

Maybe the extra rest will help with the clot issue indirectly.

Yes, for a while.  Not 11 months at that or above.

Actually, 11 months at that or above sounds pretty good too ... but I am TOTALLY not a cold-weather person.  And of course if I had those temps, I'd complain whenever I was indoors about how high they'd have the AC cranked ... because I'd be cold!!

The clot occurred because of a 13 hour plane flight from Beijing to Seattle. As long as my calf doesn't hurt, I can run. The one thing I have to be careful about is not changing my gait if the calf is feeling weak that day. As I learned in 2012 weakness in other parts of the leg cause the knee to work harder.

My plan is to keep my runs a little shorter and focus on shorter races until the clot is completely gone. My calf has it good days and its bad days now. I push a little harder if it is feeling strong and take it easy if it is feeling weak.

Maybe the extra rest will help with the clot issue indirectly.

Traci, that's a great new word. I'm the same way. 60s is ideal for living and running.

RD for me today, and I'm going to enjoy it.

I like about 50 degrees for shorter races like a 5k or 10k and around 35 degrees for longer races like a HM. 50 is nice for non-running activities.

Dan, good call to rest those knee for another day.

Traci, physically recovered.. Mentally need a little push but it's the usual sleeping in temptation that I get so often even while doing my last cycle..

Jack, thinking of a 02 Mar HM to touch that 1:45.. Early bird closed on 31 Dec so still 2 weeks to think abt it.. It does have a full but I am not ready yet.. What abt yourself?

Nothing on the schedule as of yet, Bin. DW and I might do a marathon together as part of our vacation this next summer, maybe in Eugene, OR or Seattle where her brother lives. Vancouver is also a possibility.  In the meantime, I will find some local 5 and 10ks and maybe HM when January rolls around.

Morning!  5th day in a row of no school here, and the roads are icier than ever.  But it might warm up and rain today.  Or it might stay cold and we will have freezing rain instead.  Either way, rain.  Current temp is 18 degrees.  WTF?

Jack- I vote Eugene!  Is there a reason you picked Vancouver over Portland?  I'm thinking of running Portland, which is that same week, but love the city of Vancouver also, so that one is really tempting.

                        Return To Racing

Back spasms are much better, but I'll take another RD today.  Missing some beautiful running weather (IMO) !!!

I agree, Zel. I looked at the website for the race and it definitely looks cools. Nothing is set and it all depends when we can make it up there. There is also one on the San Juan Islands I would like to try but it is VERY small; 49 runners last year.  I meant, Vancouver, BC not Vancouver, WA. It all depends on when we will be up there.

                            Dad on the run.

Jack - My pets are doing much better, thank you. I don't know if it was the Trifexis or not but I'm not taking my chances so we will be changing Heartworm medication and going to a topical treatment for fleas.

Mitch - To answer your PM question, yes I am going to do the Rumpshaker. That will be my debut back to racing Smile I already have a lofty goal of sub 24!

AFM - Woke up this morning, reset my alarm, woke up before the alarm went off, felt guilty for not running so I dragged myself out of bed and did week 1 day 2 in 27 feels like 21 degree weather... BRRRR!!!!!

                              Chasing the sub 20 5K.
