Win more crap.
The trick to doing that is choosing the right races.

True, although I tend to pick the ones that are the most convenient, then hope for the best. I also don't live in the largest city in the United States, so the fields tend to be smaller.

The size of the field doesn't matter as much as the depth... I've run tiny races that were very competitive, and larger ones that I could win with my eyes closed, though that is admittedly less common. (People think I deliberately seek out events I can win, but I don't. I just hate huge events, so I gravitate toward small, lesser-known ones, which means fewer fast people know they exist. And the women's field is never as deep as the men's in these things, for some reason.)
Stay healthy
Stay consistent to build mileage
Make and break new PRs
1. Stay healthy
2. Marathon PR
3. Race more just for fun.
Marathon PR.
There, I've said it so I'm committed. That's all that really matters to me (marathon PR), anyways. The rest is just stepping stones to get there.

What's the pace cutoff? How can you not be there after a year like '19 ffs?

Do you have a race picked out?
I'm thinking about running in Rehoboth in April at the Coastal Delaware Running Festival, or maybe New Jersey. I like racing in April because I get the longest runs when the weather is starting to warm up but it isn't yet hot.
Atta boy.

Can I just fucking have a good racing year? Is that too much to ask? Not necessarily PRs, just a fucking good running and racing year.
That should be my goal.

You'd have to define good.
Anything better than 2019...
