Morning! Heading to the office to shut down my work, grrr. Waking up at 6am was not my idea of starting the shutdown. Anyway, 5 with 6 X 100m tonight. I had a double this morning but until I get back from the office I won't know if I will be able to do it.
Damaris
Good morning!
Pints - nice to hear from you! Congrats with your career move!
Damaris - nice 8 despite still fighting the cough. You are not being paid during the shutdown, right? Hopefully it would be resolved soon, in the meanwhile enjoy your doubles
Jay - nice to hear you are feeling better!! Nice workouts, you'll get stronger doing all of these various things.
Me - the legs are sore... Did 5.8M easy at 9:44 pace and added pull-ups for good measure.
Damaris - that stinks. Running board not politics or would have more to say.
Vibe - easy days are good.
I ran 5 easy on the treadmill as it's 35 here. I've still been super busy and just barely keeping my running going. I ran 57.4 last week including 17 Saturday with 2 x 5 at GMP.

I've still been super busy and just barely keeping my running going. I ran 57.4 last week
One man's trash is another man's treasure DryHeat . My all time highest weekly mileage is 55.3M - you are doing a great job!
today i lifted. lots of squats, push ups and other assorted exercises. i ended it with a 400meter sprint on the row machine. running tomorrow, yes.
Well, my furlough letter took 4 hours so I sat in my office for 4 hours doing nothing. Then I left the office to hear the Senate was voting on reopening the government.
Ran 5.25 with 6 X 100m on the TM and that went really well.
ViBe, nice run. No doubles for me, looks like.
DryHeat, nice 5. I would be outside if it was 35F. It was 80F here which is why I went to the TM, ha.
Pints, nice job.
Nice workout Damaris!
Yeah, that's our government at its best, well, let's see what they do (or don't do) in February
Dry- Thats some serious miles in my book.
Damaris- what a day
Pints- You ever see or use them Arc trainers?
Vibe- Nice 5.8!
Got to the gym a little before 5. I can't believe how many people work out first thing in the morning...place was packed. Wore a singlet which is against "dress code" but I guess they don't care unless you look like Arnold. Maybe my 2'' runner shorts scare the dress code police away . Did 40mins on the elliptical at a moderate/easy intensity. Also did curls, high rep 1/2 squats, planks, side planks. Good workout...I'm just dying to get back on the road. Theres nothing that can replace the joy of running. The ankle felt really good yesterday...if it continues to progress like this I may be running again very soon...we'll see how today goes. So far its ok.

Jay - nice workout! As for your ankle - keeping our fingers crossed, I can imagine how antsy you are to go back to real running!
Me - another 5.8M, this time the run started in the rain but then it stopped so was not too bad. Managed 9:20 pace, the legs were a bit better compared to yesterday.
Morning! I have Pilates and 6 miles tonight.
ViBe, I'll be traveling back from SC (from a work training) that last day before the second shutdown. Nice run.
Jay, yeah, all the XT I did while rehabbing the knee didn't come close to the joy of running. Keep at it. Soon enough you'll get there.
3+ today in the warm weather. next week i will ramp up the mileage a bit.
i love the arc trainers, especially since you can change the incline and range of motion. i used to work out of a YMCA a couple years ago and would use in the mornings before I'd run at night and it gave me a nice little extra workout. low impact and you can put in a really hard workout.
Good morning everyone!
I will try out the Arc trainer tomorrow Pints. Thanks
Vibe- Some crazy rain and winds yesterday. I thought a hurricane was coming while at work. Good run!
Cycling kills my hip sometimes...I pulled the plug after 10min. No need for anything else to start hurting. Tried walking on an incline TM but it was making my ankle feel funny (I didn't have the brace on either). Did a little chest work and called it a day. Good news is my tendonitis seems to be improving every day. I could probably run right now but don't wanna push it yet. Hopefully by the weekend.
Really hoping I can salvage my spring season. Was supposed to start my program this week for the April HM but that's not happening. I ran my last one on 7weeks of prep so maybe there's still hope? I don't know...will have to see how fast I bounce back before hitting the hard workouts.
Morning. So tired today. Ran my 6 outside and it was horrid. 70 dewpoint and my coughing lungs didn't like it. Ran 5 of the miles with hubby and then ran 1 solo @ 10:07mm. I can't breathe well and I'm coughing up a lung still, but I guess I can run at a decent clip.
Pints, nice 3+. We are also hot and humid, grrr.
Jay, before your first run, I would recommend taping it to make sure it's stable. And I would do it on the TM to keep the ankle from rolling or moving too much. When do you think you will try?
Pints - nice run!
Damaris - nice 6! Once your cough issue is behind you will be flying!
Jay - good job on your workout, you are absolutely right in not pushing anything at this point. Really nice to hear the tendonitis is improving fast; don't worry about the spring season, you've got plenty of time. I haven't started to prepare for the HM either LOL
Me - another 5.8M this morning, this time it included 3 x 3:20 at 5K pace (6:06 on average) with 2 min jogs in between. That was my first speed workout of the year
