Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s what I have for last week’s tally. I know I have missed a couple of weeks, sorry, but work is crazy - any time I take a vacation day, I have to make it up in the evenings....

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly.

Thank you, Holly! Yes, trails is where all the "real" runners are, not on the road. The trails are not technical, very wide and well groomed, but still you have to watch your step. The main thing is they are soft. There is bridle path going north-south, shared with horses, and there is a big loop on the north side, around the reservoir.

The week did not start well, with 2 zero days due to crazy situation at work. Luckily on Thursday I was able to compensate somewhat with a longer hilly run at a steady pace. Today was super cold, 26F and windy. I was wearing all I had, jacket and tights, the works, while doing my 52 loops around the track. Started to warm up a bit towards the end, miles 10-13 were 7:19, 7:13, 7:11, 7:05. My left knee is bothering me however, so I don't know
