    Mornin' everyone.

    Friday’s fanatical workouts:

dg. (morning PT, videoed running on TM)

Tramps (5.5 EZ sunshiny, warm and humid miles)

Fatozzig (40 morning min, core & upper ST)

Pfriese (morning run to reach 20,000 mile total!)

    Dave (EZ 3.2 morning miles)

RunnerKSA (14.2 hot trail miles in northeast PA)

    Mike (5 not good miles)

    CMDan (1.86 nighttime miles)

Catwhoorg (6 lunchtime miles, then 8 after-work miles with hillage)

Thanks for the injury reminders, dg & Tramps. As attentive as I think I am to my body, it’s not enuf.

Letterman is a funny guy. I’m glad he’s having fun not shaving. (So am I.)

Busy weekend is right, Tammy! Enjoy the OSF on Sunday. If it’s too close, we always think we’ll get to it, but don’t, so I’m glad you are.

Good luck and success at the rummage sale, Fatozzig. I hope you see lost of puppies, and not so many babies.

Outstanding accomplishments, Paul - not just the 20K miles, but also the 30 marathons, 3 century bike rides and 2 half-Ironman, all in just 13 years - wow! And copying Letterman too…

I hope you got some rest, Dave, and that you run well in the 5K today.

So sorry to read about Rockenmom, but thanks for sharing, RunnerKSA. Sound’s like Wannabe is on a roll!

Mike, I feel your pain, but not as much as you do, so I think you need to back off even more, buddy.

I walked 6.25 very EZ miles this morning, followed by lot ‘o EZ stretching.

    Have a greta Saturday!

    Jay

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.

3.7 recovery miles in the Poconos but on a fairly flat course.  Legs aren't too bad from yesterday.   Glad I'm not in Nashville running our horrific RocknRoll Marathon/Half which was in the 70s at the start this morning.

Out there running since dinosaurs roamed the earth

      Tramps

Glad you're able to get out there, Jay.

I didn't want to single you out Paul, but I may have had you in mind (from your profile pic) when I posted that Letterman thing.   (Also, I don't know if you noticed but someone started an OCM thread in the main forum, if you're interested.)

Stayed up too late watching Connor McDavid while I did some stretching.  Wow, that kid is explosive.  I hope I get to see more of him in later rounds (at an earlier time).  Meanwhile, we Caps fans are not panicking. ("We are not cursed. We are not cursed.  We are not...")  BTW, I'm not a big sports journalism guy but I recently got turned on to The Players' Tribune, a collection of "essays" by players that, at their best, do a wonderful job of humanizing the life of pro athletes.  A recent piece by former Canuck Alex Burrows is a good example.

Mid-70s and humid this morning here, too, heading to the 90s.  The climate change marchers will be wilting today.  I may give the AC a test run today while I clean.

I ran a little shy of 5 miles.

        Have a good one!

        Be safe. Be kind.

        Henrun

Getting hot here too but not like in Trampland. Supposed to be cooler tomorrow.

          A belated congratulations to Paul.

I'm continuing my slow comeback. Ran close to 3 miles yesterday and this morning did a short bike ride on the road. I've been doing a lot of indoor cycling but this is the first non stationary bike ride I've done in well over a year having dealt with knee and balance problems. Riding with traffic (although mostly on a bike lane) requires more skills and awareness than pedaling on a stationary bike listening to music and looking at a  virtual road.

We've signed up for a Mother's Day 5K. Although I'll probably be the last finisher again many of our friends will be there and we're staying overnight in the Portland Maine area. Should be fun.

            13:28 for the 3k.

Well, it was humid and very windy. That cost me about 10 seconds per KM. The splits were pretty much even.

            Personal Bests:

            800M - 2:38 (5/28/13) | 1 Mile -5:54 (5/28/13) | 3K - 11:55 (12/29/12) | 2M - 13:00 (12/1/12) | 5K - 20:00 (4/12/13) | 13.1M - 1:37:24 (2/3/13)

Thanks for the recap & summations from yesterday coastwalker.

Tramps, my 15 year old grandson actually sent me a text picture of doing a Google search on my face from a picture of me on his phone earlier in the week. It returned a lot of my race photos, several of David Letterman, & also a few of Dumbledore from Harry Potter as likely matches. He thought that was hilarious.

tetsujin209, I have not given up on an Ironman. I just have a few other things on "the list" I want to do first. Plan is to get one done before I'm 65.

Mike E., I'm pretty proud of my kids & grandkids, too.

And thanks everyone for all the comments on my milestone yesterday.

Today... wind, lightning, & hail...OH MY! I think I'll just take a complete rest day before tomorrows marathon.

              Paul

              dg.

oh wow, Paul,  it's tomorrow!!   yeah maybe rest today.   What's the forecast for tomorrow?    Congrats from me too, for miles, marathons, family...
Another accomplishment, ...an unsurpassed relay team member & bitty van sharer... ya'll should grab Paul for yours if you get the chance!

Sorry your 5 wasn't good Mike.  I missed that post, will look back.  This must be driving you crazy.  so sorry.

That's a lot of walking, Jay...     how're your hammies?

                Holly,  : )

Henry I'm so happy that you're on the mend.  how was the bike ride this morning?

Doug, I still think we should look for a local race to share sometime this summer.   ...   or fall.    or,  next spring ...

Just 4.35 hilly windy miles this morning because I am a very good patient,  like always.   ok that part was a joke.   but I'm trying to fix so many things at once, & cutting back per what she saw me doing to my spine & all is part of what my pt suggests, I'm willing to give it a try.  kept scanning different parts to see what I needed to tweak, form-wise, which made the run a bit tedious.   pt things & yard work & house cleaning for the rest of the day.

I think we should have a RA gathering at Oz.

                happy weekend!

                Dave59

I ran a 5k today and was pleased with the effort.

MikeE   -  Why did you go and run 5 miles? It seems like all the advice on the forum was to rest. I think a big fine is in order. Or is it duct tape that is used in these situations?

Met up with the running club at way to early 7am on a Saturday for 3.1 slow chatty miles with a speedy runner coming off an injury. In real life I would never be able to run with her. The we all headed over to a local hotel where they let us partake in their breakfast buffet for a mere $7. Good food. Good company. Doesn't get better than that!

                    Trails Rock!

Ok - trying to stay positive but this is rough!!  My bone density scan shows osteoporosis in my left hip and my lower spine - waiting to talk with my MD on Monday to see what this all means for me.

                        No doubt!

Dan - looks pretty fast to me!

Deez - I didn't realize you could get that in  your hip.  I need to schedule a bone density scan, because (once again) our insurance is about to go way up and cover way less, effective 7/1.

Today I met 3 of my weekend goals: Enrolled us for the new insurance year, which starts 7/1, got a hair cut, and vacuumed/shampooed the upstairs living room carpet.  Tomorrow's goals: long run and rototill the garden/plant seeds for kale, carrots, and spinach.

4.1 miles on the TN this morning because it was thunderstorming

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Holly, can you send me a link to your insurance information? I'm assuming you're talking health plan through DH's work, right? I'd be interested to see it (yes, I'm into that sort of stuff).

Deez, sorry to hear that. Be sure to ask if you can reverse it, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

7.1 miles today, felt pretty good. Realized I'm just 14 miles short of a 200 mile month! Wow, didn't expect that. I plan on doing at least 14 miles tomorrow, so should be able to nail it.

                            Trails are hard!

Sorry to hear about the osteoporosis, Deez.  Hope there's things that wil help

Had to check on my total, just to depress myself after Paul posted his.  I apparently started logging in June, 2006 and have almost 6500 miles.  Actually not quite as bad as I thought--around 590 miles per year.

Sort of a tough run this morning.  We went to the Sox game last night on some tickets I won from work.  that didn't get us home until after midnight.  Then I had to take DW's car in for inspection before the line got too long (it's the end of the month).  by the time I got started, it was up to 72F and up to 77F when I finished.  And I didn't help myself by not checking close enough to the plan and did 6 instead of the actual 5.  Regardless, It wasn't the GA I should have done.  Oh well, it's supposed to go down into the high 40's tonight.  I think I could be in trouble if it gets warm in a couple of weeks.

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

I know a lot about osteoporosis and the various horrible medications, so feel free to message me for any info.
