Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks, Holly!

How are you feeling after beating yourself up yesterday?
Thanks, Holly! DAY PLAN ACTUAL COMMENTS Saturday 20 20.1 Long Run (progression style) pushed too hard ... Next race: Twin Cities Marathon on October 1st.
Perfectly fine today, thanks for asking! I described my symptoms to my wife and son, who are both Type 1 diabetics, and they said it sounded exactly like hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). This doesn't seem right, since I fueled during the run (and I normally don't). It might have been the "mixing" of 2 different energy drinks, switching from Hammer Perpetuem the first 10 miles, to Tailwind the last 10 (trying to practice my fueling strategy, etc.). I didn't feel great during the run, but it wasn't until about an hour after the run that I felt like I was gonna get sick.
Anyhow, I'm happy that there were no lingering effects.

Thanks Holy! It's a little harder to fit these workouts in with the cross country season going, but I'm doing my best.
