Monday - Thursday runs in Florida were all outdoors in great weather. I'm back home now. So that means on Sunday I was back on the treadmill (overnight lows near 0 and afternoon high of 10).

          ____________________________

          Total - 39.4 miles

Near the end of my planned 12 mile treadmill run on Sunday, there was a loud pop and the automatic elevation suddenly decreased. I stopped the machine and a bolt that holds the treadmill at an incline had sheared off and was sitting by the machine. It looks like I will be without a treadmill until I can get it repaired. The weather this week is not ideal, but I'll try to run outside in the cold.

I had a mixed week.  At Tuesday's track session I had to cut the last 1,200 short at 800m when I felt my calf start to pull and Thursday's HMP session had some pretty slow HM miles.  I ran in shorts and a t-shirt on Saturday when it was 55º and humid, but had to bundle up the very next day when it was 30º feeling like 20º thanks to the wind.  On the bright side, I got over 40 miles in a week for the first time since early November with 40.6 miles.  My RP and I decided our HM target pace was too aggressive, coming off 6 months of marathon training, so we're going to dial it back a bit.  This is supposed to be fun, after all.

Quickadder, that is a really nice half ! Interesting that when you take a few days off, you are then able to do long runs like that, and maintain the pace.

Paul, solid week, but  that is quite a contrast, from Florida and into the cold spell. I think we all felt it, but in NY it was not that bad, maybe 20 degrees or so.

Fred, good to see you above 40 miles again. As always, a  fairly complete week: 6 runs with a long run, tempo and some intervals. Yes, speed work is very dangerous, 100% correct decision to stop at first sign of trouble. Better be safe than sorry
