Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly!

Hello again, friends! After an amazing Alaska cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary, we have returned to triple-digit heat which makes running such an interesting challenge. My coach gave me a break for the trip, just running when I felt like it but also hiking a lot & sea kayaking, but has me training hard this week!

I ran my 3rd Vermont 100k yesterday. It was slower than last year, but faster than two years ago. My weak spot is running downhill on technical trails. Overall, I think I ended up 22nd out of 63 finishers, more than 1 hour behind a 60 year old woman. The main event is the 100 miler of course, but I'm not doing that. I was actually offered a chance to "upgrade" to 100 miles this year, but no, thanks. I could not really sleep last night, the pain in the legs was so bad. I cannot imagine what it would be like after 100 miles

Hey Zholly, hope you're healing!
56 miles to me. Good week, good training paces. Did the Presque Isle half.
Philippians 4:13.
I tried ... but just couldn't get out of bed to run at all during the week. Got going again by the weekend, though.
29.7 miles for the week -- any free passes left?
Thanks, Holly!
