IF you are over 40 AND running...then you ARE ELITE..and you can wear what you want. It is silly to run in shorts that hang down to your knees...it ain't natural... No matter how old I get, I am still 22 in my mind...and my 22 yo mind still runs in short "elite" shorts...

I have shorts of all different lengths. I actually run my marathons in the longer ones, except mine are long compression shorts over which I wear my more elite shorts. It keeps me fron needing to wear glide or chafe. I do have a pair of the really short shorts, my wife bought for me in Scotland but she does it allow me to wear them in public just for her... ha ha, unless I wear compression shorts under them. I do prefer 5 inch to 7 inch models for my general running though.
