Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
A very good training week.
As always, thank you Holly.
After a dismal last week where I was burnt out I now feel ready to get back at it. We'll see come Sunday.

Not much of a schedule this week - just 35 miles planned. 5K race Saturday and long run on Sunday. Really, just an easy week all around.
5K yesterday was interesting. Missed a turn and somebody yelled "miss turn". By the time I turned around and went back the guy who yelled, and who I was ahead, was in front of me and I just couldn't catch back up before the finish line. I lost my competitive desire there for a few seconds and realized that there was another guy in front of me that missed it also, by the time he realized he was running alone he had already run 0.25 miles. By daughter saw him get back on course right in front of her and she said she was going to beat him. We know him and he took off. He made the most of it and still finished 3rd in his age group. I ended up running and acceptable 19:57 with an added 100m. My daughter set a new PR by over three minutes. She finished 3 female over all and first in her age group with a 25:05. I was real proud of her.
Cut back miles for the week 32.4. Looking forward to 40 next week.

Another 40 mile week. This one was a little tough due to both a lack of time and a chest cold. But I squeezed it in.

Thanks for all your efforts summarizing all the reports, Holly!
Pretty good week, overall. The winter weather is easing, and some steady rain is revealing road shoulders and sidewalks...slowly. March can be our heaviest snow month, but we're almost halfway done, so there's hope for easy going from now on.
Total for the week looks to be 50.1 miles.

Hey--I'll give this a try. Because of Achille's Tendonitis, I only run every-other day, but I hit 40 on most weeks. I have a marathon coming up on April 10th, so this next week will be my last 40 miler until after the marathon.
