      Good morning!

I'm not sure what I did wrong with posting the pictures...I wrote something, too, but it didn't show up.

Anyway...wild asked about Mikey's twins and this is what met me on Facebook, this morning.

Have a great Saturday!  Go racers!

        Mornin' Mike and everyone!

        What cute kids!!

I went a scootch over 10 miles this morning in 36F under cloudy skies. My Garmin's battery was a bit low when I started, but I thought I'd be OK. Wasn't. It died at just over 8 miles. But I knew where I was, and knew how far it was to home from the 8-mile mark. Looks like a good day for yard work today, so I'll be working on collecting some more leaves from the lawn and beds.

        Have a greta Saturday!

What great pictures!  Smile   Do you know which is which yet?

I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.

What a great way to start the daily Mike. What adorable pictures of the twins. They look like such happy babies!

Trying to remember everything I wanted to comment on - congrats to Riblet. That's quite an honor and I'm sure his speech will be great. Hope the proud parents get it on video and will share it when the time comes.

Sorry about the passport Twocat. Just read in the paper that the USPS is $5B in the hole again this year. I worked there for 16 years and I can tell you it won't get better until some major changes are made.

It will take some time to get used to being "empty nesters" Dave, but I think you'll get used to it. I found that the front door to our house was a revolving door for many years. The kids would move out, come back home to get on their feet and move out again. They haven't asked to come back for several years now so I think we're good Smile

5 miles yesterday with the Y girls and 5 this morning with just me. I've never run much with a group but have discovered I really enjoy it. And though they don't quite run the same pace as me, the time goes quickly and we have some good laughs. Yesterday one of the girls was in dire need of a bathroom (see Leslie's post Big grin) so we had to sidetrack down a road to see if a church was open. Luckily, it was. Always carry a big wad of tissue in my jacket, just in case!

DH and I went out for sushi last night, then went to see "Enough Said" with James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. DH thought it was very much like a Lifetime Movie Channel movie, but I enjoyed it. And seeing Tony Soprano was bittersweet. What a great actor.

Good luck to all the racers this weekend. And hoping that Tramps' weather turns out better than he was expecting!

Great 10.2 mile run with a friend this morning - avg pace 8:52 and we talked the whole time!! Cool

Now time to finish getting ready for our trip to Mohegan Sun -- heading down with 3 other couples and 2 campers for an overnight.   They have a big RV parking lot where we can park for free and take a shuttle back and forth to the casino whenever we want - should be fun, but glad I started my day with a healthy run and my Isagenix shake!!  The rest of the weekend is not like to be so healthy!! Roll eyes

LOVE the pic of the twins Mike E!!!

Denise, your fitness level is amazing. Sub 9 and you talked the whole time. You rock, girlfriend.

ahhhh, baby pictures! They are adorable.

And Jlynne changed her avatar picture. Cute!

It is sunny and 35F and I am getting a ride  up north with my DH, who has to work today, and I will run back home. I can't wait! The weather and the scenery should be fantastic.

Go racers go!!! I am wondering how tramps did on his marathon.

Well--what kind of grandpa would I be if I didn't know which was which?  The one with the round face is Sonja...wait...no...Freja is the one with the round fa...wait...umm...okay--the top picture is Freja...or is it Sonja...no--the bottom picture is definately Sonja...I think.  I'm a terrible grandpa!

Great start to the day Mike!

Planned to do 6 today but my legs are tired, so did just 5, making a 45 mile week.  I learned a long time ago that when you begin mileage building it catches up to you, and since tomorrow's LR is key, there is little point in pushing the day before. I don't like to take days off before my LR either as you don't get the training benefit you would doing it slightly tired.  So I'll see how tomorrow goes.

I was reflecting this morning on my way home from the park that a 45 mile week used to be week one of a two week taper!

Big day yesterday. Started with my physical and will know how that went when I get the blood results, then I ran in the park, then worked all day and just as I finished, the Saint came home and we went to Riblet's soccer game.  We were supposed to go out for drinks with my RP and her husband, but I had to feed the boys so we cancelled.  Early to bed last night.  Spareribs

                        +1

My daughter was on the road around 3:00am and is at her new place, probably still moving in stuff.  They wanted to get down there and move as much as possible before the predicted rain came.

I am going to write-off the whole week and see what Monday brings in the form of running.  I'm too tired to do much of anything today, and my back is a little sore from all the raking and carrying of stuff yesterday.

I am going to get a fire going in the pot belly on the back patio, sit back there, and think about what I could do with the rest of the weekend.

I thought MikeE was going to say those were his baby pictures (from when he was a baby.)  I forgot about the twins conversation.

                          Mike - LOVE the babies!

Last night's movie was The Heat - I wasn't expecting much but was surprised to find if VERY funny - I'll give it a "thumbs up."

Tomorrow is supposed to be steady rain, so I did my LR today while DH hung the Christmas lights on the outside of the house.  We won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving, but at least he got to put them up when the weather was fairly warm.

13.2 miles in 49-51 degrees and wind.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

                          Tramps

Wow, Mike, I have the exact same hair as the twin in the second picture!  Those are classics.

Deez—yowsa! I third (or is it fourth?) the comment about talking at that pace. Nice.

Not a total wash out, but not a good day in Richmond: 3:42 and change.  Weather was not really a major factor: very humid, with showers off and on all day, in the 50s but not terrible.  I was holding back feeling fine through the easy first 10; slowed for the hills around 11; then picked it up again for a few miles through some rollers during 12-15.  But I felt my first cramp crossing a bridge around mile 16 (despite taking electrolytes) and could never totally shake it.  It started in my calf but it must have affected my gait and after a while my lower back started killing me.  I was never able to get back into a groove and by 22-24 I ended up having to stop several times to work a cramp/spasm out of my lower back—something I’ve never had problems with before.  (It’s always something, isn’t it?) I also started feeling a little nauseous and I was running (or walking!) on empty through the last 10K—no energy, foggy head, the whole package.  Not really sure what happened.  I kept trying to talk myself into believing that this was a mind over body thing but my body wasn’t buying it!

I should have known something was up when we passed a movie theater and the main attraction was Robert Redford’s new film: “All is Lost.” All the runners noticed that one!

Oh well, cold beer and a nap on the couch are in my future.  I’m sure I’ll feel better afterwards.

                            Be safe. Be kind.

                            Trails are hard!

Not a bad reward for 26.2.  Sorry it didn't go quite as hoped, though.

Excellent run Deez.  Chatting does seem to make the time fly by.

out for a 10K (2 lake laps) this morning.  And once again, wondering where my sudden speed has come from.  Glanced at the garmin at 2 miles and had a 9:00 average.  And ended up at 9:05 at 6.2.  Doesn't feel like any extra effort--guess everything is properly aligned for some unknown reason--I will enjoy it while it lasts (and hope it will show up for a race sometime).

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

CNYrunner thank you for the offer but there was never much anybody could do.

Jlynne I appreciate the sympathy for my poor passport and its travels.  Sad

deez4boyz that sounds like a great weekend to me!  I am so jealous!  If you are not a card counter the best bet in the casino is the don't pass line at the craps table, second best (and socially much more acceptable) is the pass line!  Have fun!

Tramps 3:42 despite cramping up is pretty impressive in my book

The traveling passport update: Apparently my passport has made its way to Philadelphia!  Not to the state department for processing mind you.  Just a postal annex of some sort in Philadelphia.  But that is good seeing as how the address on the envelope is in Philadelphia.  Who knows my "Priority Mail" envelope may just make it from a post office in CT to its Philadelphia destination in "just" 6 days!  Wahoo!  Roll eyes

Running:  20 miles today with 10@MP or at least hoped for MP!

Live like you are dying not like you are afraid to die.
