How often? What type of work-long bike, short bike, fast bike (ditto for the run)?

Son, when you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose; it's how drunk you get. -- Homer Simpson
This year my only bricks have been my races. I've done enough bricks to know how to pace myself. I'd rather get in a longer bike ride or run instead of splitting it up. Thats just my thought.
Why not go for your long bike ride, then run for 15 or 20 minutes when you get back from the ride? You really gon't need to get a quality run in to make the brick a positive training experience.
The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

I'm Lazy
and apparently you're honest
I've done a couple. Mostly it's been a long bike ride and then run for about a mile afterwards just to get my body used to the switch. I should probably do more, but I'm lazy too
I did the long bike/short-ish run this weekend as well. I'll probably keep doing it-replace one of my shorter runs with that brick and then maybe do some shorter bike/hard run bricks as race week approaches.
It is amazing how we've redefined "lazy".
