In 2018, we will be implementing age and gender standards to our time qualifier entry application. If you meet the marathon qualifying standards outlined below you can guarantee your spot in the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon as a time qualifier.

16 – 29	3:10:00	3:40:00
30 – 39	3:15:00	3:45:00
40 – 49	3:25:00	3:55:00
50 – 59	3:40:00	4:15:00
60 – 69	4:00:00	4:55:00
70 – 79	4:30:00	5:45:00
80 and over	5:10:00	6:30:00

Marathon finish times outside of the qualifying standards will not be considered.
Times run prior to January 1, 2016 will not be considered.
Finish times at race distances other than a marathon, such as a half marathon or 50K will not be considered.
A verifiable time is one run on a certified course, those certified by USA Track & Field (USATF) or a similar governing association; considerations will not be made for non-certified races, weather or course conditions.
The qualifying time is based upon each athlete’s age on the date of the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon (October 7, 2018)

The application for an entry to the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is open! Want to run in the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon? The application window for a non-guaranteed entry is open! Runners can apply for a 2018 Chicago Marathon entry at any time during the application window. The application window is open now and will close at 2 p.m. (U.S. Central Time) on Thursday, November 30. Following the 2018 application window, names will be drawn from the full pool of non-guaranteed entry applications. Please note, prior to the drawing, duplicate applications will be removed. Submitting multiple applications will not increase your chances of receiving an entry through the drawing. Non-guaranteed entry drawing and notification

Runners who apply for a non-guaranteed entry will be notified via email of their entry status on Tuesday, December 12.
Runners who receive an entry through the drawing will be automatically charged the 2018 registration fee.
Entries cannot be refunded, withdrawn or transferred to another individual.
Runners who apply for, but do not receive an entry through the drawing may still register for the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon by opting to run for select official charities or tour groups.
