Are we there, yet?
It's August already. July ended with a good run that put me just over 200 miles, 200.9 is be more precise.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K, 9:11:09 06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
August already. July wasn't a big month in terms of mileage (152) but I accomplished my big goal for the year, Beaverhead 100k, sub-19.
Just sort of coasting along now thinking about what's next. Did a HM and volunteered at a race today. Later this month, I've got a 50k in Southern California.
6/9/24 Cinderella Trail Run 50k, Berkeley, CA
7/20/24 Tahoe Rim Trail 56 miler, NV
9/21/24 Mountain Lakes 100, OR
160 or so miles for July, with about 25x feet of elevation gain. Low mileage, but lots of hills. Still trying to figure out the mandatory gear list for UTMB, it's kind of a pain in the butt. It will be an expensive trip as we're paying for us and a friend and an extra week of vacation in the area.

Still building. Finished July with 285 miles and 35k vert. I am moving up on the wait list for Bear 100. There is a good chance I will get in. Big run last week was a 21 miler with 5k vert. First 7 miles were on the Wasatch 100 course. Bair canyon climbs 4300 feet in 4 miles. Bair canyon is about mile 5 of Wasatch.

Big week for me. 81 miles and 12k vert. Finished the week off with a 25 mile run pacing my buddy for the last part of a hard 100k. Katcina Mosa 100k.
That's a tough race, did it a few years ago. Nice week krash!
nice week Krash!
not much to report here. enjoying nice weather and getting out there when i can. i have been doing some light upper body work every other day or so. starting in on hills again. LR this week was yesterday 16.5. hope for a 20'er next week then perhaps a long taper
A little kickback week. 70 miles and 7k vert. Keep on moving forward.
Krash, even your easy weeks are killer!
I'm just coasting along, 31 miles this week. I have a couple 50k races on the calendar, first one is next weekend, but I'll sort of be sightseeing, not racing.
44M last week. heat and smoke and projects put a damper on my training plans last week. still have 4 weeks but feeling like taking it easy. the heat really sucks esp in my house that heats up like an oven and wont cool down even with fans and small ac's
About a 20 mile running week, I'm tapering for next weeks race. Lots of logistics with covid still going strong affecting everything. Lots of questions about if we can get into restaurants etc. with our CDC vaccine card, if we need a test when we get there to obtain a bar code businesses need to let us in, etc. I applied for a French sanitary pass for myself and the wife, haven't gotten it yet due to the high demand, we might not get it in time.
Right now the weather is the least of my worries, it's usually number one lol. I'm going to run the race with poles, I've only used them a couple of times, but at least I have a spot on my pack where I can carry them and they don't bother me. Anyone who has done the UTMB or CCC knows what a pain the mandatory equipment list is, but I'm packing my running pack today and I have everything.

good luck! sanitary pass? is that to show you can use a bidet?
Another fun week. Finished up with 74 miles and 11k vert. Big run weekend. Started Friday night at about 6 pm and ran till 1:30 am for 27 miles and 5,500 ft vert. Training is going great.
Started with a sore throat and head cold Friday morning. Got worse during my run. Had a hard time climbing at 9-10k ft elevation. Then got chills and a fever mid day Saturday. Got myself tested. Turns out I have Covid. Don't know where I got it. Yes, I do work in a hospital and it's possible I got it there. But less likely with all the surgical gear I wear. I will take a few days off of running. The body is week. I hope this doesn't mess up my training and I can get my energy back.
Be safe and wash your hands. It is scary that one can be very careful and still get Covid.
