Intended to be a 3-mile tempo, 5 minute jogging recovery, and 1 mile fast but under control. I felt all right on the tempo though I was a little unfocused in the first mile and recovered fairly quickly during the jog, which might mean it was too long. I really liked the way the mile went. It took me a bit to loosen all the way back up but then I felt really good for the first half and then I really had to focus and work hard in the second half. I had been hoping to run under 5 minutes but I am actually very happy with a 5:07 on tired legs at the butt-crack of dawn. I hope it means my fitness is coming back - I hope to be building a solid foundation for good races in the spring.
